Cost increases imminent, what now?

With National Insurance changes and other cost increase about to take effect, and with ongoing challenges to consumer confidence, many restaurant operators are now facing a business model challenge.
One of our clients has a hero product that, in 2019, sold at £18. If they were to apply the 2019 model to todays (2025) lease food and team costs, that item should now cost over £40. It's a great product, but to try and charge that would be insane.

How do we change the model, so restaurants can make a profit again?  Better use of technology and data has to be part of the answer.

Our MD Scott Muncaster believes that restaurants have always succeeded or failed on the strength of three things:
"People will only visit and return to restaurants that offer great service and food in a nice (and clean!) environment - if any of those is disappointing, they’ll go somewhere else next time.  Doing this profitably has become the challenge; the costs to deliver those three in ways that worked just 5 or 6 years ago no longer stack up - and things are heading the wrong way, with no sign or turning back. Waiting for it to get better will not work”

"At three rocks, we think the next generation of technology will be the game-saver, allowing operators to deliver the things that made them famous, but in new ways. Using tech to capture every booking, maximise every order, empower the team to deliver great service by automating the drudge tasks… and using the data on every customer and operational interaction to drive improvements across multiple channels. That’s how we’ll turn things round and keep restaurants affordable AND profitable.”

CTO Matt Rawlins adds: “We’d recommend starting by looking at the systems you already DO have in place and the Data available, and use this to identify a roadmap to prioritise and tackle your biggest challenges.
This doesn’t have to be a massive overnight migration to new technology, more of a logical step by step journey that puts you on the right path.”

We’d love to help you take that next step.
